PRICING SPECIALIST – 12 MONTH CONTRACT

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Degree in Mathematics Finance, Accounting, or related field.
Minimum 5 years’ experience as Pricing Analyst or comparative experience / environment.
Minimum 3 years’ working experience in telecommunications environment.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in developing and defining pricing structures.
CIMA professional registration is an advantage.
The candidate should have an approachable orientation when performing their duties.
The candidate is expected to be knowledgeable on market research and statistical analysis and pay attention to detail.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Reporting to Chief Marketing and Sales Officer, the incumbent will:
Develop the pricing strategy on new products, services and markets.
Research product services market relevance and perform analysis of the results and report.
Perform a cost analysis versus pricing margins, discuss and obtain approval from the CFO.
Provide key Accounts Manager with adequate pricing model on meeting customer specific solutions.
Drive the approved commercial model for projects and new market products and services.
Develop and obtain Executive Committee approval of the competitive and market relevant standard pricing models and equip sales team to market.
Facilitate pricing proposals and obtain approval from the pricing committee during company tender and projects.
Conduct negotiations with customers on pricing where required.
Manage pricing audit findings in collaboration with the finance, sales and marketing teams.
Develop pricing strategies that maximises company profits.
Manage the pricing policy and ensure its implementation and regular reviews.
Produce monthly, quarterly and annual pricing report, not limited to proposals, break even points, customer profitability and market trends, etc.

Digital Signal Processing Engineer – CPT

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Digital Signal Processing Engineer works closely with peers across functional engineering groups and key stakeholders to ensure satisfactory delivery of the Data Processing & Pipelines Department􀂷s systems and products.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Tech (Eng) (NQF 7) in Electrical, Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering with 6+ years relevant experience, OR
Eng/B.Sc (Eng) (NQF 8) in Electrical, Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering with 4+ years relevant experience; OR
MSc / M.Eng (NQF 9) in Electrical, Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering with 3+ years relevant experience; OR PhD (NQF 10) in Electrical, Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering with 1+ years relevant experience
Experience:
- Experience as a DSP or FPGA Engineer with experience implementing digital signal processing algorithms on FPGA-based hardware using HDL or other design tools
- Experience in designing digital signal processing systems at a higher, product level or in low-level implementation of components and features
- Experience building data processing applications specifically for Radio Astronomy instrumentation is advantageous but not required
- Implementing parallel processing on FPGA hardware
- Implementation of accelerated and optimised DSP algorithms
- Experience analysing system requirements and defining a suitable system design
- Writing technical documentation describing the implementation and design of products at various technical levels
- Software Development or Scientific Computing proficiency in either Python, C++, or Matlab
- Working with workflow and issue management tools (e.g., JIRA)
- Working with source code and version control tools (e.g., Git)
- Knowledge:
- Multi-rate and parallel implementations of Digital Signal Processing Operations such as FFTs, Filters, DDS, DDC
- Knowledge of FPGA firmware design, parallel implementation and FPGA design tools
- Typical radio astronomy instrumentation: e.g., spectrometers, correlators, beamformers (advantageous)
- High-speed data transport such as ethernet and/or knowledge of large-scale networks (advantageous)
- Controlling and monitoring of DSP applications and components
- Systems Engineering Processes or Software Design Life Cycle
- Software Development or Scientific Computing proficiency in either Python, C++, or Matlab
- Linux operating systems and development tools

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Implementation of digital signal processing (DSP) products, applications and/or algorithms for Radio Astronomy data processing systems that satisfy higher-level system functional and performance requirements
Implementation of these products contains elements of digital signal processing system design, FPGA development, software development and high-speed data transport
Support analysis, definition, integration, verification and validation activities of DSP products at various system levels
Development of software to control, monitor, debug and support operation of the developed products and applications
Follow and support the relevant Systems Engineering processes for product development throughout the entire product or application lifecycle from conceptualisation through to decommissioning
Support deployment, maintenance, upgrades, operation and decommissioning of developed products
Participate in and support the generation of technical system and product-related documentation applicable to developed DSP products to support the delivery and handover of the Data Processing & Pipelines Group’s products
Participate in Research & Development initiatives within the Data Processing & Pipelines Group to develop novel ideas for future products and contribute to the overall continuous development of the group

Project Manager Level II -CPT

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The role is responsible for leading projects across the full lifecycle, from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, control, handover and close-out, in line with SARAOs project management framework, governance requirements and System/Product Lifecycle Engineering processes. Key deliverables include project plans, schedules, budgets, resource plans, risk and stakeholder management, progress reporting, change control, procurement support and contract management. The role requires strong contract management capability, preferably under NEC4, with exposure to FIDIC, GCC or similar contractual frameworks, to ensure delivery within approved scope, time, cost, quality and compliance requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

BTech degree in Engineering or a related field, with a minimum of 13 years’ experience in engineering and construction project management: OR BEng/MTech degree in Engineering or a related field, with a minimum of 9 years’ experience in engineering and construction project management.
ECSA or equivalent project management professional registration (preferred, i.e. PMI-PMP / PRINCE2 / PMIACP / IPMA or equivalent
Experience:
- At least 3 years of proven experience in contract management in accordance with NEC (Preferred, NEC4), FIDIC, and/or SAICE GCC contracts, demonstrating a successful track record in project delivery
- Proven track record of executing major engineering research, development and construction projects in accordance with established System/Product Lifecycle Engineering processes
- Experience in leading and managing multidisciplinary teams of senior professionals
- Knowledge:
- Managing large-scale Engineering, Technology Research and Development projects
- Extensive contract management knowledge (preferably in accordance with NEC4, FIDIC and/or SAICE GCC contracts)
- Sound knowledge of project planning tools (Primavera, MS Project)
- Project Management theory, principles, standards, and best practices
- A Project Management Office (PMO) and/or EPCM environment
- Procurement and Contract Management
- Project Estimation
- Public Finance Management Act

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Provide professional project management services to SARAO Program and Senior Management in the delivery of Technology
Research and Development projects that underpin the construction and operation of major Radio Astronomy facilities.
Project Initiation: Assist with gathering initial project requirements and developing project charters.
Identify and apply suitable project management approaches (i.e. Sequential, Agile, and/or Hybrid Project Management
Methodologies) in delivering projects, including coordination of geographically distributed and remote teams.
Project Planning & Integration: Collaborate in identifying project deliverables and success criteria; develop project implementation plans and subsidiary plans integrated with technical solution delivery; establish performance measurement baselines (scope, schedule, cost, resources, quality & risk); lead reviews and secure project plan approvals.
Project Execution: Direct and manage project work; manage project deliverables; acquire resources, develop and manage teams; conduct procurement and manage contracts (aligned with NRF, SARAO and SKAO policies and procedures, i.e. NEC4, FIDIC, GCC); manage quality; implement risk responses; manage project communications and stakeholder engagement; verify and validate project deliverables.
Technical Project Management: Provide specialised technical project management expertise, including planning, coordinating, and overseeing the execution of engineering solutions to ensure the successful delivery of complex technical outcomes.
Monitoring & Control: Oversee project work performance; analyse and monitor baselines; manage stakeholder engagements, risks, and communications; control project scope, schedule, cost, resources, procurement, and quality; and perform integrated change control.
Ensure timely and accurate reporting of project status, progress, risks, and issues to Program and Senior Management.
Project Closure: Conduct lessons learned; review project performance; finalise close-out agreements; manage the transition of final products, services, or results; and formally close projects or phases.
Governance & Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the development, maintenance, and improvement of project management framework, processes, standards, and templates to support SARAOs governance requirements.
Support the developmental plan of junior project managers and graduate trainees.

Systems Analyst x2 – CPT

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The main purpose of the job is to plan & execute systems analysis tasks alone and under supervision, during design, construction, integration, verification, commissioning and operations of the various radio telescopes and associated supporting systems, focussing primarily on the telescope signal chain.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Eng/B.Sc (Eng) with 4+ years RELEVANT analysis experience in an Engineering or Research and Development Environment; OR
Eng/M.Sc (Eng) with 3+ years RELEVANT analysis experience; OR
PhD/D.Eng with 1+ years RELEVANT analysis experience, AND
Meets the requirements for registration with ECSA as PrEng.
Experience:
- A background in development of systems in radio astronomy, radar, satellite or avionics systems is preferred.
- Application of methods, procedures, tools and techniques of signal processing (analogue and digital).
- Worked within systems engineering processes
- Worked in technology areas utilized in signal-based systems (RF, EM, analogue and digital electronics, etc.)
- Software programming
- Use of common analysis tools such as CASA
- Knowledge:
- Recognised domain knowledge, based on theoretical aspects with practical experience in methods, procedures, tools and techniques of signal processing (analogue and digital), systems engineering life-cycle processes, technology areas in signal-based systems (RF,
- EM, analogue and digital electronics, etc.) and software programming
- Exposure to Radio Astronomy.
- Understanding of agile software development methodologies

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Deliver systems with verified performance and quality through executing system and data analysis in support of design, qualification and commissioning of telescopes and guest instruments, by analysing performance requirements, providing inputs to systems engineering processes and telescope designs, defining verification procedures, developing mathematical models of the system of interest, performing verification tests and analysing test data and system non-compliances and compiling reports.
·Advancing the maturity of systems and products to ensure stakeholder satisfaction through executing systems analysis in support of design definition, verification, operations and continuous improvement programmes (ad-hoc & quick reaction tasks).
Improving accuracy of analysis, increased efficiency (data processed vs time) and quality/maturity of reporting through developing analysis and engineering skills by researching tools and techniques of signal based systems analysis
Ensuring the engineering is executed with integrity and risk is managed by supporting and participating in compiling the analysis component of Project SEMPs, technical schedules, WBS and SOWs and providing inputs into engineering process reviews of radio astronomy related systems.
